MT Studios was founded in 1992 by Grammy nominated Los Angeles Music Producer/Musician Matt Thorne.

Matt Thorne is an American producer, mixing engineer, musician, and songwriter whose career spans decades of innovation across rock, pop, and television sound. Known for his sharp production instincts and versatile studio craftsmanship, Thorne has worked with artists such as Trapt and The Eels, produced a track featured on The Punisher movie soundtrack, and served as a mixing engineer for the hit TV series King of the Hill. His work in the studio has earned multiple RIAA Gold and Platinum certifications, reflecting both his creative and technical excellence.

Before building a renowned career behind the console, Thorne made his mark as a founding member and bassist of Rough Cutt, one of the defining acts of the 1980s Los Angeles rock scene. His songwriting skills helped craft “Back for More” on Ratt’s multi-platinum debut Out of the Cellar, a track that remains a cornerstone of the glam metal era.

Thorne’s music and production work have also been featured in numerous television shows and national advertising campaigns for Subaru, Dodge, and other leading brands, showcasing his adaptability and impact across entertainment mediums.
